ZANDER AACHEN’s developed MINOS-SD series consist of the E-STOP relay SD1E which can be used for monitoring of safety-oriented sensors, for example emergency stop buttons, protective door switches or light grids and the safe coupling relay SD1K, which can be used for safe galvanically isolated contact reinforcement as well as test pulse filter for safe PLC control systems.

Besides the obvious advantage of the devices – the structural width of only 6.8 mm, which merely comply with one third of width of the standard devices presently on the market – the safety relays are attractive for their versatility.

In spite of the small structural width, the SD1E can be configured for individual applications like conventional relays. Via configuration switches, the starting behavior as well as the monitoring of safety-sensors can be configured instantly at the device.

Device variants for various configurations are avoided, which simplify enormously the application of different system types as well as the warehousing.

Besides a certified use up to PL e / SIL 3 in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1 and IEC 61508/IEC 62061 the devices are used in process industry in accordance with IEC 61511, in particular through type examination for furnaces under EN 50156-1 and EN 746-2.

The ZX09 and ZX09A are high-speed programmable logic controller (PLC). They can be used as an independent PLC, as well as a decentralised PLC within a Network, for parallel processing of signals in real time.

For this the ZX09 provides ten digital inputs and four digitals outputs.

The ZX09A Controller additionally provides an analog input and RS485- and up to two SSI–Interfaces

Both controller provide a network connection through an Ethernet-Port. With it, the PLC can be connected with a PC, to load the program onto and configure the PLC, as well as directly with one additional PLC, or through a switch, with a network. The programming of the PLC is done via the program-development-software EX_PRESS 5 (Order No.: 589092).

The new safety relay SR3E meets the requirements of the new standard EN81-20/-50 and is therefore ideally suited for the use in elevators.

ZCode-RC is a coded tamperproofed magnetic safety switch with transistor output. It is simple to install, IP67 dust- and waterproofed and can switch with no contact. Anything other than the ZCode actuator will not trigger the switch. The switching status is indicated by a LED.

In combination with a Safety relay ( e.g. ZANDER SR-Series, MINOS SDSeries), a safety logic device (e.g. ZANDER MINOS SL-Series) or a safety PLC (e.g. ZANDER TALOS-Series) the switches are selfmonitoring with short-circuit protection. The stainless steel types ZCode-RCE is designed for rough and hygiene critical environment.

Within the increasingly automated beverage production, the requirements for absolute speed as well as reproducible detection regarding a high degree of selectivity of good and bad parts are important for the overall process optimization.

As an example, in exceptional cases, the risk of a poorly placed crown cap, which has a negative impact on the products shelf life, has to result in a sorting of the affected bottle. Up until now Oppacher Mineralquellen GmbH & Co KG has manually optically controlled this process, which, with a throughput of up to 14.000 bottles per hour, presented a great challenge.

Now the crown caps are monitored via a camera system and sorted via the Zander PLC SPEEDY ZX4T in cooperation with the project developer VOR-Solutions

The camera takes a photo of the crown cap and compares the image with a taught-in default. If the photographed crown cap is placed inaccurately, the respective bottle is tracked up to a pusher via a product tracking and removed there. The product tracking is realized with the Zander ZX4T micro PLC. No other manufacturer is able to map such a complex process in the required speed with a small control system PLC. Due to its cycle-free functioning, all signals, that are necessary for the product tracking, can be displayed in real time.

The ZX4T is a cycle-free, cost-effective, high-speed solution; thereby it was possible to save an external analysis unit.

This ensures that all badly sealed bottles are withdrawn correctly.

The entire system was designed and installed by VOR-Solutions.
